Tennessee Promise
To Remain Eligible
Apply to the Tennessee Promise program at Tennessee Promise Website by Nov. 1st.
(online application available August 2024)
Apply for admission to a participating university, community college, or a TN College of Applied Technology (TCAT)
(Contact your College to see if they participate in College Application and Exploration Week and waive admission fees)
Complete 2025-2026 FAFSA at FAFSA Website
(2025-2026 FAFSA applications available October 2024)
Complete 8 hours of community service, after November 1, 2024 but no later than July 1st 2025.
College/Military Visits
Students must request permission at least one week prior to the scheduled visit. Junior and Seniors will be allowed two days during the academic year. View link below for all requirements.

Gear Up TN
Seniors at HCHS will receive district services that will help them prepare for college and apply to postsecondary programs. Services will include one-on-one mentoring, tutoring, college visits and financial aid counseling. GEAR UP Tennessee will also provide students across the state with college and financial resources including a college access and success website.
Call Me Mister at UTM
The Call Me Mister program strives to increase the pool of available teachers from a more diverse background. It is a teacher leadership program that provides the participants with the tools necessary to succeed as pre-service teachers. With the preparation and support from the Call Me Mister program, students will go on to pursue successful careers in elementary and middle schools in Tennessee.
