HCHS
Parents
and Stakeholders,
Happy Fish Fry Week! I have a few new items to share with you, so please see below...
Upcoming Teacher Appreciation Week
Class of 2026: We appreciate our Senior
Parents! With this being an extremely busy time of year, we have asked the Class of 2026 to not provide for Teacher Appreciation Week and to enjoy this last month of senior year. THANK YOU for the many years of help you all have given us!
Class of 2027: The Class of 2027parents will be providing a grab & go snack/drink on Tuesday, May 5th (which happens to be a Professional Development Day for us). Mrs. Rachel Steedly is coordinating and would love donations of pre-packaged snacks. You may send those--clearly marked--to the HCHS office if you'd like. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Steedly at rachelsteedly@gmail.com.
Class of 2028: The Class of 2028 will be providing breakfast to the staff on Wednesday, May 6th. Mrs. Stacy Hayes is coordinating. If you would like to donate items or money, or would be available to help, please contact Mrs. Hayes at stacychayes@gmail.com.
Sophomore & Junior
Parents: Follow up from Dual Enrollment DSCC
Parent
Meeting:
Thank you to those who attended the Dual Enrollment
Parent
Meetings for next year's DSCC students last Tuesday! Many of you who attended wanted the presentation, and if you missed--you will want to review. Attached you will find the information shared by Mrs. Krista Taylor during that meeting. Should you have questions, please feel free to reach out to us or to Mrs. Taylor (her contact information is included on the last slide).
Junior Parents: Senior Shirts
Each year around this time, I like to add a note about Senior Shirts for the following year. As a school, we do not order or offer Senior Shirts (other than what students often purchase from Jostens). However, many girls (mainly) like to have the shirts that say senior and their graduating year. They typically wear those shirts on the first day of school, at graduation walk time, on graduation practice day, and other days throughout the year they organize. Again, this is not a school-sponsored thing, but I try to put a note out to parents, because soon will be the item to order them. There are several ladies in town who make the shirts, but they do often require pre-orders. If you need help, it's often better to contact a current or former senior parent, but holler if I can help point you in the right direction!
REMINDER: TESTING
We have a busy week with testing next week! Please refer to the previous parent emails (or our school website) that contain the schedule and notes. Please continue to be cautious to not schedule appointments on these days.
REMINDER FOR DE and WBL JUNIORS AND SENIORS for Testing Days:
Additionally, if you have a Junior or Senior who has DE or WBL at the beginning of the day, please remind them to check their Google Classroom page. Next week, Seniors will have required Mock Interviews as the younger students are testing. By the end of this week, information will be on their Google Classroom with specifics. Additionally, we will have a Senior Meeting during one of those days to go over Graduation Walks and Graduation Information, and they won't want to miss that!
