HCHS Parents and Stakeholders,
It's hard to believe we are wrapping up September and quickly approaching mid-term for the first semester! I wanted to touch base today on some upcoming important information.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, September 30th, from 1-7 pm. Entrance will be available under the front canopy and at the E entrance across from the red fieldhouse. We hope you'll stop by and visit with your child's teachers!
A few quick notes...
**For safety purposes and with the exception of our preK and exceptional needs students, we ask that traffic in the front circle be limited to buses both before and after school. Car riders arriving between 7:30 and 7:45 should be dropped close to the C2 entrance.
**We are having quite a few students arrive tardy within the first period of the day. If you have a teen driver and you leave home before them, please help remind them to leave home with plenty of time to travel safely, find a parking spot, and report to first period by 8am.
**Though there likely are some great things on Tik Tok, the challenges that continue to get posted for teens are concerning. Please help your students by having conversations about appropriate responses to social media. If we can help, please let us know.
Parents of Sophomores and Juniors! PSAT...
We are excited this year to have two seniors who have recently been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. To qualify as a National Merit Scholar--and hence having increased scholarship opportunities--students can qualify by taking the PSAT during their junior year. Sophomores can also take the PSAT during tenth grade as a practice test. The PSAT will be given at HCHS during the day on October 8th. Spots are limited and can be reserved through October 4th by visiting HCHS Registrar Ms. King. The cost is $18. More information is attached.
Parents of Seniors! Senior Cap and Gown orders...
Mr. Brent Arvik of Jostens visited with our seniors on Monday to relay information about senior supplies--caps, gowns, and more. Students were given packets with paper information and extras are located in the office. Below you will find information from Mr. Arvik that might help answer any questions.
Here's everything you need to know to order your graduation products. Please watch the 3 short "How-To" videos below. Seniors, congratulations! Parents, let's get this done!

All Grade Levels! ACT Information...
Seniors will take the ACT on Thursday, October 29th. Juniors will take the ACT in March. Sophomores will take the PreACT in March. Though students take the test at no cost twice during the school day, we encourage students to take it more often to increase scores and opportunities.
