HCHS Parents and Stakeholders,
We are off to a #HCHSAwesome year at Henry County High School! I have seen some great things happening in our classrooms and know your students are working hard on their academics. As we begin our third full week of school, I wanted to send some information your way.
Health History Forms...
In addition to online registration, each student does need a paper Health History form on file in the nurse's office in order to be treated by our nurse. Your child should have brought one your way. Please complete and send back to school, if you haven't already. Thanks for your assistance in this.
Information from School Nutrition...
We are very excited to provide both breakfast and lunch at no cost to our students. Please see the attached flyer with information about food costs, online payment for purchases beyond a meal, and more!
Red Swarm (HCHS Student Section)
Red Swarm passes are now available for purchase! If you have a student who frequently attends home sporting events, this pass will save you/your student money! Red Swarm passes will admit students to ANY and ALL regular season sporting events, no matter the sport! The pass is $50 and lasts all 2024-25 school year! This is a great deal! Passes can be purchased from Ms. Allison Evans at HCHS. A flyer with purchasing information can be found outside Ms. Evans' classroom (room 9) and is also attached! Go Big Red!
Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Dual Enrollment classes:
DSCC classes will officially begin next week! Please see below for information regarding classes based on type of course.
**DE information for all: Regardless of how students are taking their DSCC DE course, they are enrolled in a Google Classroom orchestrated by John Norwood, our DE liaison. Information for DE classes will be sent through Google Classroom throughout the semester as needed.
**DE classes at Central School: If your child is enrolled in DE Biology 1010, their classes meet at Central School. Students will report to the HCHS Theater during Period 1 on Friday, 8/23, for DSCC Orientation and then to their first session of class at Central School on Monday, August 26th, at 8am.
**DE classes at HCHS with a DSCC instructor: If your child is enrolled in a DE class that is taught on the HCHS campus by a DSCC instructor (DE Algebra, DE English 1010, DE Statistics, DE U.S. History), they will attend daily beginning this Friday, 8/23. On Friday, students are to report to the HCHS Theater during their assigned class period for DSCC Orientation. Beginning next week, they will attend classes on the assigned class days and Learning Lab on the other days, all housed on the HCHS campus. The purpose of the Learning Lab is to provide structure for strong study habits so our students will be prepared for success in their post-secondary work. Students were sent information by Google Classroom on Monday with their schedule information, based upon course. Please see the attached flyer as well.
**DE online classes: If your child is enrolled in a DE online course (DE English 1020, DE French/Spanish, DE Music Appreciation, DE Psychology, DE Sociology, DE Speech), they are located daily in the HCHS Library for their classes and will begin classes on Monday, August 26th, during their assigned class period.
