HCHS Parents and Stakeholders of SENIORS....

This coming Wednesday marks the end of Quarter 1, which means we are almost 25% through your child's senior year...Yes, it goes quickly! I have just a few quick notes for you today...

Mr. Brent Arvik of Jostens visited campus this week and spoke to seniors on Tuesday about graduation orders. This includes cap and gown orders, plus many more options. Students were given packets on Wednesday with ordering information. Mr. Arvik supplied the following link that explains the ordering process a bit more in a few videos...https://henrycounty.teamjostens.com/ . Orders may be completed online. Additionally, Mr. Arvik will be on campus on Friday, October 6th during lunches to receive orders. If you have questions on the ordering process, please reach out to School Counselor Becky Bullion at bullionb@henryk12.net

A few reminders/notes...
**Please remind your students to check the Class of 2024 Google Classroom page regularly!
**Also remember to look at your student's "Next Guide" that they received through the GEAR UP office...it is stocked full of great information!
**UT Promise applications just opened. More information to come soon in the Counselor parent email and in the Class of 2024 Google Classroom.
**Now is a great time to be making college visits and completing job shadowing experiences!
**Now is also a great time for students to secure recommendation letters from teachers. Students should complete the recommendation packet (available on our website and the counseling office) and present that to the teacher when asking them to write a letter. Several weeks advance notice is appropriate.
**Senior picture make-up day will be the Monday we return from Fall Break, Monday, October 16th. Seniors who missed summer senior pictures are being assigned an appointment time. If you have questions, please reach out to our Yearbook Sponsor, Tiffany Dunn, at dunnt@henryk12.net. This day is for senior picture make-ups only. There will be no time for remakes on this day. More information for those who need remakes will come at a later time.
**Seniors will take a state ACT test on Tuesday, October 24th. This is a very important day. We are really encouraging our seniors to study hard as we approach this day. One hundred of our seniors will participate in our ACT Boot Camp on October 18th and 19th. We have a fun reward system set up as we approach this day...ask your student about it! Several of them are just a point or two away from making a big difference in college and scholarship opportunities!

As always, please let us know of questions and concerns.

Go Big Red!
